Skeptical but pleasantly surprised
This is one of those things that doesn’t really have a need but is a nice addition to the room.I was skeptical about it even working, but figured if nothing else it would be a nice accent light when you don’t want the big lights on in the room.I got it in the mail, opened the package and read the instructions, let me tell you there’s nothing difficult about setting this up. Cleaned the TV, attached it around the back as instructed, and plugged it in. Worked right off the bat. I did install the app and went through the paring process and it does work, but the app is rather useless in my opinion.What I like about it: it’s really easy to install (like 6 minutes in total). I did use the clips though I’m not sure they are necessary depending on the size of your tv. It works without any programming or setting anything up in the useless app. Just get the camera set up in the center top of the tv and put on your favorite show or movie.What did I learn: if you stare at the light, you’ll wonder what the purpose is. Just watch the tv and let the ambiance happen. I thought the camera would be a distraction, once you set your mind to ignore it you don’t notice anymore. I thought the light would be distracting but I found it isn’t at all. I thought it would only work if the room was dark, that was wrong, it’s fine in a dark room or a well lit room.I really didn’t think it would be able to truly change colors with the program on the screen, but it does and it tracks with the speed of the fastest movies like the marvel or other action films.This backlight is well worth the money, it’s a low price point for the quality of the product. While installing it, all I could think was, “this is going to be a pain if I have to turn it on and off manually, and I’ll not getting my phone out everytime I want to watch tv. “Too easy, when the tv turns off the light turns off, when you turn the tv on, the backlight comes on and immediately starts to match the colors of the screen. It doesn’t just switch between a couple of light colors all at once, it actually puts colors in the background based on the screen. I found this is adding a feeling to the room which adds to the show. I put it on a 55 inch screen and it was just about perfect, maybe get actually be a little long but it works just fine, so overall I would say the size or length does work just fine. I found it looks great with the white wall behind the tv and it helps show the actual colors and adds to the watching experience. I would probably not find the same results if you have your tv on a darker colored wall but if n a light wall it matches great.

Go and get this quickly!
I was skeptical that it would work as good as all of the videos showed, but for $50, decided to try it out… and IT WORKS!! If you are looking to accentuate your movie or gaming experience, go get this. It took about 10-15 minutes to get set up, and then it works immediately. The app gives plenty of options, but is not even needed. Awesome product!

Not a bad value. Lighting works okay, some spots don’t match what the camera picks up. May be a user error. Still fun to use.

Camera is made for small TV’s – doesn’t work well on 75″
I bought this for my 75″ 4k TV. I’m not sure the camera can see the whole screen. I’ve tried multiple times and really think the arm for the camera is too short. Yes it shows colors but not really what’s being shown on the tv. maybe I’m setting it up wrong but the camera having no adjustment is really the problem with it. Its bright and seems to operate, but don’t think its built for a TV my size.

Calibration settings
So far pretty good. I love how it adds to the atmosphere of watching movies way more than I anticipated! The Tv looks larger with the lights behind it and with a 75” it feels like I’m at the theatre lol. The app is okay.Pro tip: If you’re having troubles with your borders, the colors not seeming to sync up with the tv correctly, check out the calibration tab under device settings and you can make sure the camera is seeing the tv at the correct angle. It shows you exactly what the camera sees for easy adjustment.
